Mt. Rainier, August 1996

Mt. Rainier as seen from Reflection Lakes. While the rest of the world was talking about Mars rocks, we camped for a couple nights near here.

Of course we had to drive around the mountain and see if from all sides. The view of Mt. Rainier from Sunrise (pictured here) is very different than from Paradise (below).

It's been said that Paradise is so named because that's how the first visitors to the area viewed it. Well...we certainly wouldn't dispute that.

The meadows of Paradise. We shared our walks through the meadows with dozens of deer, many marmots, and assorted other wildlife. Some of it even posed. (See below.)

Mr. Marmot was too busy eating to mind our walking in his meadow.
