Is there a Nobel Prize for Math? No, but the Nobel Prize in Economics is sometimes awarded to a mathematician. The genius John Nash made fundamental advances in Game Theory in the 1950's, but while young was stricken with a severe form of schizophrenia. He disappeared from intellectual life for over thirty years until he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1994.

The movie "A Beautiful Mind" is based on the true story of this remarkable man and will be shown for free at 2 PM on November 2 in the University of Arizona's Kuiper Space Science auditorium (1629 E University Blvd).
