The 3rd
Lunar and Planetary Laboratory Conference
May 23-24, 2000
Hacienda del Sol, Tucson, AZ

First Announcement

With such a large and diverse set of people here, it is often difficult to keep up on what everybody is doing! The Lunar and Planetary Laboratory Conference (LPLC) will be a two-day conference, organized and run by the PtyS graduate students, devoted to the work that is going on within our own LPL/PtyS community. It is the hope of the organizing committee that faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and research staff will take this opportunity to share their progress and activities with each other.

The conference will be held on Tuesday, May 23 and Wednesday, May 24 at the Hacienda del Sol resort in the Catalina Foothills. Talks and poster sessions will be held all day on both days with sessions chaired and AV support provided by the PtyS graduate students. Lunch and coffee breaks will be provided on both days and there will be a reception with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar at the close of activities on Wednesday evening.

This year we will be adding electronic abstract submission and registration. Please be sure to watch your e-mail for further announcements.

We are also planning a special session on Impact Cratering. Abstracts on this subject are strongly encouraged.
