Information for Presenters

Presentations may be made on any aspect of ongoing or recently completed research, whether or not it has been presented previously (or will be presented subsequently) in another place.

Posters: The poster space will be 48"x48". We will provide pushpins for your use. Posters need to be up before 1:00 p.m. on the first day of the conference. Posters can remain up through the second day, but should be taken down before you leave on the last day of the conference. We will not be held responsible for forgotten posters.

Talks: Talks should be limited to 10 minutes in length, with 5 minutes for questions and discussion. We provide laser pointers and a podium with a microphone. We will provide an LCD projector for electronic presentations. You may bring your own laptop to connect to the projector, or we will provide a computer running Windows XP. This computer will have PowerPoint and various web browsers for giving presentations, and will be equipped with a CD-ROM drive and a USB port for your loading convenience (it will not have an internet connection). Two slide projectors and two overhead projectors will be available. However, we had very few participants NOT using a computer to give their talk last year. Please let us know if you intend to use the slide projector and/or overhead projector.

Slide carousels and slide sequence forms must be turned in to the AV table before the beginning of your session. If you are going to be giving an electronic presentation using the provided computer, you must check your presentation before the time of your talk. If you have an early morning talk, please come before the conference starts, otherwise, you can check your presentation during any of the breaks. The earlier the better! If you are going to be connecting your laptop to the LCD projector for a talk, please make sure that the laptop is booted up and ready to go, we also suggest testing the video connection before the beginning of your session.
