Europa's Ocean Might Contain Enough Oxygen to Support Life
Jupiter’s enigmatic moon, Europa, contains nearly twice the water of all Earth’s oceans, and an LPL scientist suggests there might be enough oxygen in those waters to support life.
Richard Greenberg, professor of planetary sciences, says that concentrations of oxygen could be great enough to support microorganisms as well as “macrofauna,” more complex animal-like organisms that demand greater levels of oxygen to survive.
