Fortney Awarded Sloan Fellowship Jonathan Fortney (2004) has been named a 2010 Sloan Research Fellow in Physics. The Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowships seek to stimulate fundamental research by early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise. These two-year fellowships are awarded yearly to 118 researchers in recognition of distinguished performance and a unique potential to make substantial contributions to their field. Jonathan is Assistant Professor in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics University of California, Santa Cruz.
