How do I add myself to the Active Directory Domain?
First! Contact sys via email, phone, or come by SS-440/442 to receive either a personal ADS account or the username/password information to add yourself to the domain.
I have the username/password, what do I do now?
From your desktop, follow these simple instructions:
1) Go to the start menu --> control panel
2) Switch to the 'classic control panel' view setting and double click on 'network connections'
3) Right click on your current connection (usually named Local Area Connection) and select properties
4) In that window, scroll down till you find TCP/IP connections in the selection box and click properties
5) Change the numbers that are circled in red to fit what is shown below.
6) Once changed, select ok and ok again till you are back to the network connections control panel. Click 'back' to back to the control panel and now double click on system.
7) Switch to the computer name tab and click on change.
8) Click on the 'domain' radio button and input ads.lpl.arizona.edu into the box. Leave everything else alone and click ok.
9) When prompted, enter your username and password and then select ok. Following this, restart your computer and you're all set!
