How do I remove my computer from the Active Directory Domain?
First! Make sure you have an ADS account OR you still have the password/username information that you first received when you joined the domain. If you do not have it, contact sys via email, phone, or come by SS-440/442 to receive either a personal ADS account or the username/password information to proceed.
I already have the username/password, what do I do now?
From your desktop, follow these simple instructions:
1) Go to the start menu --> control panel
2) Switch to the 'classic control panel' view setting
6) Now double click on system.
7) Switch to the computer name tab and click on change.
8) Click on the workgroup button and put 'workgroup' into the box. Leave everything else alone and click ok.
9) When prompted, enter your username and password and then select ok. Following this, restart your computer and you'll be off when the computer restarts!
