The Far Corners of Creation: Creation

Creation is the world of Exalted. It is flat (though slightly concave, with the center weighed down by the Imperial Mountain). At the center of the world, around that same Imperial Mountain, lies the Blessed Isle, home of the Realm, the most powerful state currently extant. Around the Blessed Isle lies the Inner Sea, and around that lies the Threshold. As one moves in any direction outward, one leaves the Elemental Pole of Earth behind and approaches one of the other Elemental Poles, so that the South becomes increasingly fiery, the West becomes an endless sea, the East is lost in infinitely tall trees, and the North is a barren waste of freezing winds.

A very well-drawn map of Creation is available here. Players in the Far Corners campaign should note that not everything on this map is guaranteed to actually exist in the game, and there are certainly many things which do not appear on the map, including entire nations in some places. There are additional maps at that site, some of which contain information the characters definitely do not know yet; please avoid those unless you want to spoil yourself.

Creation

Abalone: Both the capital city of the Wavecrest Archipelago and the island on which it resides. It is dominated by the volcano of Kame Tal. Wyld zones cover a large portion of the island; within one of these lies the Sunken Grove, a manse owned by a First Age incarnation of Hunter . In addition, there is a Ledaal family manse on the island, near the city. Roan is attuned to it and currently holds the hearthstone for it.

Bright Obelisk: Capital of the Ventus Prefecture, and named for a monument located in the center of town, said to have been built by the early settlers, though investigation by the Circle suggests there may be more to it. The town is very peaceful, orderly, and clean, with a near utopian society. There has been a striking shift in the populace here over the past few decades, with the old, blond stock mostly leaving and being replaced by short, darker folk. The governor, Holly, is held in high esteem, and sometimes called Pasiap's Daughter despite not being Dragon-Blooded.

Cloaka: A good-sized town in the Eagle Prefecture, it is known primarily for its horse breeders and the races they run regularly. The governor is named Prism Flame. The Circle has not visited Cloaka, though plans to do so were once made.

Coral Archipelago: A collection of islands in the northwest part of Creation. Its capital is Azure, and it is ruled by a militaristic oligarchy. Coral sponsors many pirate groups as privateers. Coral's primary rival is the Wavecrest Archipelago, but relations with the Skullstone Archipelago are strained at best.

Dark Passage: A small village on the north coast of the Blessed Isle, in the Ventus Prefecture, it is notable only for being the site of the ferry across to the Isle of Voices.

Eagle Prefecture: Prefecture containing the west and northwest portion of the Blessed Isle. Its capital is Eagle's Launch, and the current Prefect is Orchid Coral.

Eagle's Launch: Capital City of the Eagle Prefecture, it is known as "the gateway to the West," although business seems to be poor these days. The governor is Orchid Sand.

Glola A small town in the Eagle Prefecture of the Blessed Isle. Tani passed through here on the way to Guin, noting somewhat unusual behavior and hearing a strange howling during the night.

Guin: A small town in the Eagle Prefecture of the Blessed Isle. The folk there were guilty of the Hundred Gods Heresy, offering worship to local deities ( Seskester, Gilkilan, and Norrath). When Sesus Hassop got wind of this, he set out to purge the village of the Heresy. The Circle went to Guin and eradicated the evidence, convincing the local gods to play nice, leading Hassop to conclude that the story he had heard was false. Inhabitants included Gossamer, Two Ox, Ebb Tide, and Willow.

Harberg: A small village on a small island in the northern seas. The Ivory Duke enchanted the entire village so that every inhabitant was identical in appearance and ability, bringing everyone down to the same levels of strength, intelligence, agility, and so on. The group drove him off and dispelled his glamours.

The Heptagram: The preeminent school of sorcery in the Realm, the Heptagram is located on the Isle of Voices. The current head of the school is Mnemon Kesa.

The Isle of Voices: A small island to the north of the Blessed Isle. It is the location of both the Heptagram and the ruins of Versino. The entire coastline seems to be warded such that Demons of the First Circle cannot cross.

Nexus: The largest city in the East, this is the home of Tamlo and Sabien.

The Pyramid of the Sun: This enigmatic structure is located deep in the Western sea. It is covered with strange glyphs and filled with strange machinery.

Sennet Mill: A small town in the Eagle Prefecture of the Blessed Isle. It was the site of a purging by the Immaculate Order some fifteen years ago or so, due to the Hundred Gods Heresy, or so the local stories go. It no longer exists, but the site is near Glola. An investigation of the site turned up a garden of herbs useful in alchemy, particularly poisons.

Skagerrosoth: A small island in the extreme northwest of Creation, this was the site of one of the Dragon Kings' greatest cities, composed exclusively of their living vegetative technology, stretching to the coastline at every point. Sadly, it's unique nature left it uniquely vulnerable to the Great Contagion, and every last structure above ground withered and died, leaving only gigantic, subterranean, crystal capacitors behind.

Skullstone Archipelago: This collection of islands in the northwest part of Creation is ruled by a Deathlord, the Silver Prince (otherwise known as the Bodhisattiva Annointed by Dark Waters). Its capital is in Onyx. Skullstone is not currently at war with any other state, though relations with other powers tend to be chilly at best.

Varaj: A large island near the western end of the northern Threshold, dominated by the Bright Obelisk, and the current prefect is Sage Lake. Other towns include Dark Passage and Blackwater.

Versino: This city, now in ruins, was a magnificent metropolis during the First Age. Located on the Isle of Voices, it is now a home for a few surviving demons and the Vault of Secrets.

Wavecrest Archipelago: A collection of islands in the western part of Creation, the Wavecrest Archipelago is the largest state in the West. Its capital is in Abalone. Wavecrest has reasonably warm relations with the Realm, and there is a Dragon-Blooded garrison/embassy in Abalone. Wavecrest's primary rival is the Coral Archipelago.

Yu-Shan: Residence of the celestial gods, the only way known to access Yu-Shan is through a set of special gates, each of which is guarded by a group of Celestial Lions. The Celestial Bureaucracy runs the show here in the name of the Unconquered Sun and the other greatest gods, such as Luna and the Maidens.
