Lord Juan Quintus: Ruler of Los Diablos,
and a eunuch from Imperial China. Master of The Pit, and a potent
sorcerer.

Lester: One of Lord Quintus' ruffians,
he was notable for several features: a massive facial scar; a
harpoon-hand; and wearing a tattered doorman's outfit. He was
killed by the heroes.

The Pit: The Pit was a bizarre entity,
a living tarpit which contained the minds of all those who had
been thrown into it within a collective intelligence of sorts.
It demonstrated formidable telekinetic powers, and could animate
the skeletons trapped within it.

Ben Powell: Ben Powell was one of many people who had been thrown into The Pit. He, however, maintained some degree of individual thought and power, and used this to summon (he claimed) the heroes to him. This was for the purpose of having them kill him, as he was losing the struggle to maintain himself as an individual.
When they killed him, he thanked them and told them that
they could "call the storm," which, in fact, they proved able
to do. Later, it was his voice they heard in their heads,
providing running translation within the group.
