The Cast

Camaxtli (played by Elizabeth Turtle)

Camaxtli is a dragon whose name and appearance suggest she originally came from Mesoamerica. At some point, she was bound to service by a Lotus sorceror. She was freed from this servitude during a battle versus the heroes, and promptly turned on her former master. Having nowhere else to turn, and nothing better to do, she joined the heroes.

Sebastian Teg (played by Ross Beyer)

Teg was a citizen of 2056, who went to work as a Transtemporal Arcanowave Creature Retrieval Specialist (monster hunter) for the Buro. After a while, though, he became disenchanted with the Buro and uncomfortable with what he was doing. To ease his conscience, he begin implanting greppers in a nonstandard way, one that would cause less pain to the Abominations. Unfortunately, this turned out to allow many Abominations to eventually escape control entirely; when they tracked the problem back to him, he was forced to flee and joined up with the group thanks to Chad's Gatemaker.

Teg was eventually overcome by the effects of his Arcanowave gear and turned into a demonic creature, with skin like parchment and strange glyphs flowing across it. Later, Chien Tang purified him, separating the human soul from the demonic body, leaving Teg in a ghost-like state.

Dopplegangers: Wu Lin, 69 AD guard in the employ of Shin Chun

Takeda (played by Terry Hurford)

Takeda was a samurai in 1850's Japan. Returning to his lord's castle one evening, he found it in flames. Trying to determine what was going on and what had become of his lord, he found himself trapped by the flames, but among the "Portugese" who had been captives of his lord. When the former prisoners were led through a Gate to the netherworld, he followed them in their escape. Alone in a strange new world, he followed the party.

Struck by Malice in the hand, he attempted to stop the rot's progression with Oblivion, ending up wiping most of his memory. The rot was eventually stopped with a countervenom. The withered hand was eventually replaced by a silver hand created by the Smith.

Jubei-chan

Played by: Rachel Mastrapa

Jubei-chan was a ninja working for the Dainihon Resistance. Orphaned at a relatively young age, she was adopted by a high-ranking member of the resistance and trained by them. The Shattering deposited her with the party.

In a battle against Buro survivors, she lost one eye to a laser weapon. This eye was replaced by a sophisticated prosthetic by the Japanese government. The prosthetic, in turn, was replaced by the Smith, who fixed the original wound. Quote: "I am not going to translate that."

Ling-Mae

Played by: Celinda Kelsey

Ling-Mae was a college student from Hong Kong, in a 21st century that only existed for an eye-blink from the perspective of the Netherworld. She was a student of sorcery, and quite advanced. She ended up with the group after the Shattering. She has learned of the other versions of herself deposited in other locations by the Shattering and is concerned about them.

Hannibal (played by Chris Schaller)

Hannibal served in the Vietnam War before returning to the States to become a math teacher (or was it English?). He was also an avid biker who wandered the country. After the Shattering, he somehow found his way through the Netherworld to 90 AD China, where he joined the group.

Hannibal was chosen by the dragon who had been Odin to serve as a vessel of sorts. This gave Hannibal unusual powers, but also began reshaping him to be closer to the original.

Nine Nouns As Adjectives, A.K.A. Chad [Inactive] (played by Chris Schaller)

Nine Nouns is a demon, straight out of a Chinese hell. Well, not straight out...he was captured by the Architects Of The Flesh, who implanted a variety of devices in him, including a mind control device. Luckily, that device later failed and he escaped. Eventually, he was able to ask a boon of the Dragon King and was cleansed of his arcanowave gear. Shortly thereafter, he was consumed by another demon, but with both of them reduced to weak shadows of their normal selves, he proved to have the stronger will and re-formed himself. He has both a human and a giant, spiderlike form, the latter being composed of a huge mass of insects and arthropods. He once had the ability to take on the shape of a motorcycle, but lost it in the consumption/reconstitution process.

Nine Nouns has not reappeared from the Gatemaker since the Shattering.

Talks-With-Spirits [Inactive] (played by Rachel Mastrapa)

Talks-With-Spirits is a mysterious sort. She showed up in 1850, just in time to see Wei get turned into a jade statue. She has a strong interest in the group's map of feng shui sites...which was part of the Wei statue for a while. She is a sorceror of some skill, specializing in weather control, apparently (or perhaps that's just what she finds most useful). The group tends to call her Talks-With-Mouth-Full.

Talks-With-Spirits has not been seen since the Shattering.

Mae-Li Rebecca Gallagher [Inactive] (played by Celinda Marsh)

Mae Li was a young girl growing up in 1850's Hong Kong when she was brutally murdered. According to her, she ascended into Heaven and became an angel. While observing the world, she saw a sorceror whose foul deeds caused her to hate and she fell from heaven. She is a beautiful Eurasian woman with either wings or a set of wing tatoos on her back. She carries a knife of spirit-stuff, and can pass through most non-living objects.

Mae Li has not been seen since the Shattering.

Lei Meiying [Inactive] (played by Gwen Bart)

Lei Meiying was a rough-and-tumble pirate of the China Sea in the 1850's. She was eventually convinced by a monk of the Guiding Hand that she should turn her energies toward something more constructive, and she signed on with the Hand. After being taught something of the Secret War, she was sent back to 69 AD as part of the Hand's big push against the Lotus. When Wong Fei Hong, her commander, made an alliance with the group, he assigned her to act as liaison with them. She doesn't speak much and carries a trusty sword.

Mae Li has not been seen since the Shattering.

Thiothar [inactive] (played by Moses Milazzo) Thiothar was a Viking warrior of circa 1000 AD. He was especially valuable to his comrades for his knowledge of medicine and mead-making. The Shattering dumped him with the party. He left the group when he broke the law of the City of Mists and was conscripted there.

Rong Wei [Inactive] (played by Rachel Mastrapa)

Quote:"The Gatemaker is not a toy!" Wei, though Chinese, grew up in Japan, in the mid-19th century. Her twin brother Duno killed their parents, leading to her searching for him, a search which led her to become a ninja and accidentally led to the 20th century. She eventually encountered him in 1850's China, where she pinned him to a flaming cart which fell into a misty chasm. Shortly thereafter, she was turned into a jade statue by a Lotus sorceror.

Dopplegangers: Nu Hai Dao, 69 AD Chinese pirate, holder of the Stone Forest Sun Sen Ping's niece, modern day employee of the Steel Wheel

Sun Sen Ping [inactive] (played by Andy Rivkin)

Quote:"Quan Lo? He owes me money!"

Sun Sen Ping fought against the Japanese in the Second World War, using his incredible martial arts skills to good effect. Over the years, though, he didn't find Communist China to his liking, and he moved to Hong Kong. When Hong Kong was handed over to China, he came to the U.S. He's a player of Pai Gow, and generally tries to avoid the INS.

When an Architect plot threatened to destroy his past and that of his family, he travelled to 1850, where he convinced his ancestors to travel to America. In the resulting timeline, he ran a successful chain of kung fu schools, which takes most of his time. After the shattering, he was left in a demon-infested China until encountering the party again. He currently lives in Japan, looking after a few of the party's hangers-on and duplicates.

Jack Syracuse [Inactive] (played by Bob Reid)

Jack doesn't talk too much about his past. He insists he's a plumber, though he drives expensive cars, wears expensive suits, and tends to pull large caliber automatic weapons out of his toolbox. He apparently lost his family in a tragedy, though he later managed to kill the man responsible. In the pilot, he accidentally killed a family of tourists, an incident which gravely shook him up.

Later, travelling in 1850, he encountered a man named Vallente who was a dead ringer for him, and who was a violent criminal, having wiped out multiple innocent families. Jack managed to kill Vallente after an extended duel, but the experience left him both heavily wounded and unsure of what to do next, so he left the group, possibly permanently.

Dopplegangers: Vallente, 1850's gunslinger

Johnny Else [Deceased] (played by Rob Coker)

Johnny is, or was, an FBI agent with a penchant for the occult. If that sounds familiar, well, okay. His mentor was apparently killed by an ape-man, or a man with a monkey, or a monkey that turned into a man or...listening to him tell the story gets really confusing. For that matter, listening to him say anything gets really confusing.

He set out for San Francisco after finding a set of mysterious papers in his mentor's office, and generally tries to explain whatever mayhem has occurred lately to the local police. After a particularly explosive incident in L.A., he was suspended indefinitely, pending an investigation.

That point became moot when, during a trip to 1850, he tapped into the chi flow of the railroad. Shortly thereafter, he received a threat from a mysterious woman...whom he promptly turned into a fox. Not long after that, he was arrested on false charges and attacked by a squad of assassins who killed him (though they took losses in the process).

Muhammed [Deceased] (played by Moses Milazzo)

Muhammed was a researcher at a large corporation, working on what promised to be a breakthrough in biotechnology. His project was suddenly and mysteriously cancelled, and he caused trouble trying to find out why. When hints emerged of a conspiracy, he refused to stop prying and eventually found himself a fugitive, threatened with jail or the insane asylum. He found his way to San Francisco, and when a guard/tourguide on the Alcatraz tour tried to spirit him away from the tour, he panicked, leading to a shootout which left him with the group. Muhammed suffered greatly from arcanowave effects, eventually mutating into a grey lizard-like humanoid. He was killed in the final battle against Draco.

The Blade [Inactive] (Pilot only. Played by Ron Vervack)

The Blade was a mysterious, verging on the insane, individual who ran around with a sword and paired mini-crossbows, fighting crime. After precipitating the warehouse fight in the pilot, and then throwing himself out a second story window for no immediately obvious reason, he disappeared and has not been heard from since, though there are some strange stories about mysterious figures roaming San Francisco by night.
