Status: Ally
Reality: Core Earth/ Aysle?
Ambrose is possibly the oldest ally of Fugitive Group C. Even before the first meeting of Isa Tharend and Mike Robinson, he had sent Isa some equipment to help her out, and he has provided the group with information ever since.
Ambrose is a young man, possibly in his late twenties, with black hair and green eyes. He is of average height and build. He is known to have been of Core Earth reality originally, but currently lives in Aysle, uses spells, and dresses in Ayslish fashion, indicating that he may be of Ayslish reality now.
When Isa, H'hodaraak and Mike first went to visit him, he had been kidnapped by agents of the Dark. They freed him, and he has been on good terms with them since.
Later, messages from Ambrose kept showing up, wherever they were going. These messages sometimes included money, plane tickets, and other items the group needed. The group consulted him while seeking the Possibliity Chalice.
When Isa left Fugitive Group C for a while, she returned to Ambrose, and studied with him for a while. She took with her the Idol of Osiris and the Possibility Chalice, which he placed in the British Museum, putting down powerful wards to protect them.
Later, Ambrose was kidnapped by Alianora, an agent of Simon Carr. In his absence, the wards on the British Museum failed, and the Idol was stolen.
Much later, Fugitive Group C tracked down the castle of Alianora, and found Ambrose's body trapped in a tree in a crystal cave, sealed off with a large rock. His soul was trapped separately, in a mystic mirror, but they reunited body and soul and rescued him. It was at this time that they discovered that Alianora and Jack Blue were one and the same.
Ambrose later revealed that Kathryn was actually Isa's great-...-great niece, and rightful ruler of House Tharend. He agreed to come to Teotihucan for a while to help tutor her. During this time, he was kidnapped by Alianora again.
Rescued once more, this time from the palace of Simon Carr in St. Petersburg, he returned to Tharend Manor with Kathryn to help here with reestablishing the House properly. Much later, he returned to Teotihuacan with Kathryn to let Fugitive Group C know about an impending threat in Avignon. In Avignon, he was struck down and brought to the point of death defending Kathryn...the group was only able to save him by putting him in stasis. Normally, such stasis is released upon the patient's healing, but Ambrose's stasis did not abate, and he remains in this state as of the end of the war.
