The Army Of The Dark

The Army Of The Dark is the name given to the Ayslish forces who aligned themselves with Thorfinn Bjanni at the outbreak of the Ayslish civil war. Though intended as a derogatory name by the Army Of The Light, it did not bother Bjanni, his Viking troops, or most of his nonhuman followers, and was in fact, quickly adopted as official.

Edwyn Prestcote: Edwyn Prestcote, was a Corsair of Aysle, the closest thing to a leader that freebooting group had. He took over the position of Amethyst after the latter's death, putting him in charge of the British Isles. His most impressive scheme involved dealing with Dr. Mobius in bargain whereby he provided a base in Ireland and other unknown rights in return for Mobius having a reality bomb set off in Ireland, which would throughly disrupt the defenders there. This plan was ruined when Fugitive Group C attacked the base and captured the bomb.

When Simon Carr took power, Amethyst was imprisoned in Scotland, but was eventually freed by Don Pyrus, who put him in charge of smuggling and piracy on the Baltic and North Seas. He was later killed by Fugitive Group C.

The Lackeys

Alianora

Gunnbjorn: A Viking jarl who was attempting to organize a Dark army at Loch Ness, to bring order from the chaos that had resulted after the outbreak of the Ayslish civil war. He was subordinate to Amethyst and worked with Sarella. He was killed by Fugitive Group C, who took the new army's payroll, causing it to dissolve.

Don Pyrus

Sarella: A sorceress working with Gunnbjorn at Loch Nass. When found, she was interrogating Ambrose in the dungeon of Castle Urquhart, with some animated suits of plate mail for assistance. She was killed when Mike Robinson flew into her at top speed, smashing her into a stone wall.

Sedgewick Van Smythe: A small-time con-man who hooked up with Don Pyrus when he began forming the Ring. He was the front man for the Cypria Power Company, and he hired Fugitive Group C to guard the plant. When the group learned they had been set up, they returned to the company. In the final confrontation, Van Smythe was killed.
