Lady Pella Ardinay was ruler of Aysle a century ago, when the peaceful land was invaded by the forces of Uthorion. Facing Uthorion in single combat, she was defeated, and Uthorion's spirit posessed her, controlling her body.
When Uthorion invaded Earth at the Gaunt Man's invitation, though, the spell giving him control was disrupted, and Lady Ardinay regained sole control of her body. She promptly ordered a halt to the invasion, though Uthorion rebelled, in the body of Thorfinn Bjanni.
Since then, Lady Ardinay has commanded the Army of Light in opposition to Uthorion's Dark Army, gaining ground in some places, losing it in others. Recently, however, an assassin poisoned her, leaving her in a coma.
