Well, maybe there's no such thing as a truly innocent bystander, but there are plenty of people that Fugitive Group C has only glancingly encountered, or even just heard about, without becoming too involved.
William, Helen, and Cynthia Barker: William Barker was an Atlanta geneaologist who had the misfortune to be consulted by Mal Mu'Ein about the mysterious Destiny Map. Nippon agents headed by Osato found him, interrogated him, and killed him, his wife Helen, and his daughter Cynthia.
Horace Blessed: A small-time con man and thief. After the invasion hit, he took to posing as a merchant from Aysle as one of his identities, and is was in this guise that he met the party. Attempting to steal the 'Signal Fire' from its cyberpapal guardians, Horace was caught. He was allowed to live on the condition that he feed false information to Fugitive Group C, which he did, pretending to get caught stealing Mike Robinson's wallet so that he could bargain for his freedom.
Basher Gallios is a small-time hood operating in the Chistlethwaite area of London. His particular racket seems to involve selling Core Earth talismans. He is known to have provided one such talisman to the kidnappers of Kent Edgeworth, who were believed to be associated with Don Pyrus. He is a man of apparent Caribbean origin, who is apparently in his 30's and who wears his hair in multicolored dreadlocks.
Mabwe: The name of two people, father and son, whom the group met on Christmas Island, during A Christmas Island Carol. Mabwe the younger was imprisoned in Kingman's diabolic machines, but broke free and aided the group at a critical moment, only to be killed by Kingman.
Hildy Marlen and Dr. Wilhelm Marlen: Dr. Wilhelm Marlen was an engineer who became a Weird Scientist when the invasion hit. Forced to work for Doctor Mobius, Dr. Marlen built the Digging Machine. They were rescued by Fugitive Group C during The Day The Earth Stood Still, but were killed by Victor Kingman during A Christmas Island Carol. They were brought back as zombies by Kingman during The Forever City, only to be killed again and laid to rest properly.
Elizabeth Watson: Police chief of the Houston Police Department until
conflicts with the Delphi Council forced her to leave. She moved to
Atlanta and became chief of police there, as it was a city friendly to her
position.
Susan Weissman: A young woman, struck and killed by a lightning bolt in
a reality storm during the early invasion. Her body was then possessed by
the spirit of Isa Tharend.
