Katrina Rostov is a Russian, and a psychic. In fact, she was possibly the most powerful of the old Soviet Psychic Research Group. Before the invasion happened, she had visions of the turmoil to come. Thanks to Katrina's visions, the Russian army was able to uproot and destroy the stelae placed in Russia before the maelstrom bridge descended. In fact, they were able to time it so that the maelstrom bridge was destroyed by clashing realities.
In the process of finding and destroying the stelae, the psychics incurred the wrath of the demons which had been sent to plant the stelae and pave the way for the invasion. The psychics and the Russian army managed to destroy some of the demons at great cost, but at least two were known to have escaped.
Later, Katrina was drawn to Fugitive Group C by the power of the Possibility Chalice, and helped them learn that the 'Signal Fire' on board the Orient Express was a phony. She began to fall in love with Fujiwara, but was kidnapped by Victor Kingman. She later broke free of Kingman's influence and helped in the battle against him, and in the lighting of the true Signal Fire.
Unfortunately for Katrina, one of the demons who had escaped earlier was still looking for her, and found her in Africa, where it destroyed many of the other psychics. It chased her all the way to the Land Below, where she was captured by the Dorooni Wasp Riders, only to be freed by Fugitive Group C, who destroyed the demon, Thalchek.
She still gets together with Fujiwara whenever possible, and has begun teaching him how to unlock his inner strengths and use them telepathically.
