Mara-24

Status: Ally

Reality: Kadandra

Mara-24 was a reality physics genius, a prodigy who pushed the technological limits of her world. While still a teenager, she developed the theory of multiple cosms and realities, and made contact with another cosm.

Unfortunately, that cosm was Tharkold, and they promptly invaded. (It was later learned that they had been preparing to invade on their own, and her message startled them into jumping the gun, relieving her of an immense weight of guilt.)

She served valiantly in The Demon Wars, helping to fight off the Tharkoldu technodemons with both inventions and valor in the field. She eventually discovered that the technodemons were withdrawing, to participate in the invasion of a much lusher prize: Core Earth.

She tried to contact our world, but only another prodigy, Gerard Etienne was able even to dete4ct her message, and he couldn't decode it, so she came in person. She joined with other stormers in a desperate attempt to stop the invasion, achieving notable success against The Gaunt Man and middling success agaings Pope Jean-Malreaux, converting him into the CyberPope.

Her group shattered, she formed a new group, the Gatekeepers, and began working on less direct means of fighting the invaders, like constructing a gate to Kadandra to bring through weapons and more fighters. Her efforts were helped greatly by finding the Ring of Ptah, which allowed her to move her entire group and their facility by means of gates. This group eventually settled down at Teotihuacan.

A long-standing problem of Mara's is her arm. She lost her arm in the assault on the Gaunt Man, and it was replaced with a Tharkoldu cyberarm. As such, it was very powerful, but possessed of a demonic influence. However, Fujiwara had a precognitive dream, in which the demonic power in the arm took over her mind and body. Based on this, they convinced her to have the arm removed, and her biological arm was regrown by the Space Gods.

When Tarenthellin infiltrated Teotihuacan, however, he was still able to take over Mara-24 with one of his spiders. Fugitive Group C was able to rescue her, however, with help from "Mara-25": a copy of her personality which she had made and kept on her facility's computer system.
