Osato

Status: Enemy (inactive)

Reality: Nippon Tech

Osato was, when first encountered, a simple ninja, heading a group of ninjas in Atlanta. But when Holmes invoked a reality storm and transformed him to Core Earth (he was later re-transformed), he took it personally, destroying the Kanawa facility in Atlanta in an attempt to kill Holmes.

Later, when Holmes was knocked unconscious in a battle in the streets of London, he awoke to find himself bound, and Osato cut off two fingers from his left hand. Later still, Osato rescued Holmes from an ambush by CyberChurch forces, only to burn out an eye, lop off an ear, and carve the ideogram for 'revenge' into his chest.

This game continued for quite a while, with Holmes replacing appropriate parts with cybernetics. Finally, though, Osato needed the help of Fugitive Group C for a raid on the space station Firmament. Blackmailing them into helping him, he betrayed them when his goal was accomplished; but Holmes, with help from the temporarily disembodied Mike, was able to blast Osato with a microwave gun, causing severe brain damage.

Osato's comatose body was kept for months at the German facility at Bremen, but was stolen by a team of ninjas. It was later discovered that they took the body to a group of renegade Space Gods bioengineers, who repaired the damage and added some improvements: he was made faster, stronger, tougher, and rendered psychically invisible.

After pulling a few tricks such as giving Leroy's clone a 'revenge'-shaped birthmark, he settled into a mode of simply following Fugitive Group C around. During the Orbital Mind Control Pyramid incident, he even cooperated with them.

However, as time went on, Osato began to be torn between his love of Japan and his sworn oaths to the Kanawa corporation. He began providing clues to Fugitive Group C to prevent things like the sale and destruction of national treasures, and also gave a clue to the location of the Emperor of Japan.

When Fugitive Group C went to rescue Emperor Akihito, he was ordered to kill him. Fujiwara then challenged him to a martial arts duel. After a long, grueling battle, when both contestants were exhausted, Osato was finally killed, a smile on his face.
