Don Pyrus is an infernas, a type of faerie associated with fire. While native to Aysle, he seems to have taken quickly to Core Earth, modelling his persona on Godfather-style mafiosi and his organization on organized crime in general.
He is known to have run assorted rackets in London, but his most ambitious one led to his downfall. He attempted to drive all remaining power companies out of business except the ones he owned, which depended on cypria faeries to generate electricity. As part of a double blind, he had Sedgewick van Smythe hire some adventuresome types to 'investigate' the attacks on power plants, while really sending them into a trap.
Unfortunately for Pyrus, the group hired by Smythe was what would later become Fugitive Group C: H'hodaraak Phaa, Isa Tharend, and Mike Robinson. Surviving the trap, they came back to confront their employers and learned the truth. In the final confrontation, most of Pyrus' men were killed, but he himself escaped after killing Phaa.
Isa Tharend dedicated a fair amount of time later tracking Pyrus down, finally finding him in Copenhagen, where he was running rackets similar to the ones he had run in London. She tried to take him down alone, but was killed in the process, when she had to choose between defending herself or saving innocents.
He became effective ruler of the Danish Aysle mixed zone, and hammered out agreements with the Mafia giving him control of smuggling over a large area.
He was known to be involved with Gerrik Tharend, and acted as a middleman when Gerrik ordered the death of Kathryn, arranging for Umbras to be hired.
After the fall of Simon Carr, he was probably the most powerful of the Ayslish Dark, but Fugitive Group C then came to Copenhagen and he was killed in the ensuing conflict.
