Thalchek was one of the demons sent to prepare the way for his reality to invade Russia. When Katrina Rostov and other Russian psychics uprooted the stelae that had been planted, however, Thalchek was barely able to escape. Starved for magic in the reality of Core Earth, it was able to make it to the Cyberpapacy.
Once there, it roamed around a while, terrorizing the populace, until it was captured by a team of CyberPriest demon hunters. It was kept imprisoned on the space station Firmament until it was accidentally freed in Fugitive Group C's destruction of the station. Making it back down to the Earth, and at full strength, it began a search for the psychics who had thwarted it before.
Eventually tracking down Katrina Rostov and some others to Africa, it tortured most of them to death and chased Katrina all the way to the Land Below, where she was captured by Dorooni Wasp Riders. When Fugitive Group C freed her, Thalchek intervened and there was a massive battle, culminating in the destruction of both Thalchek and Cross.
