Lon Chaney was born to fairly poor parents in the besieged England of Gaea. Lacking any better prospects, he joined the Army and slowly rose to the rank of Sergeant Of Artillery in Her Majesty's 14th Artillery Division.
In one fateful battle, Lon's cannons were overrun by Horrors, and Lon was wounded, but he had it tended to. Not long thereafter, another man who had been wounded lost his temper and transformed into a wolf during a fight. The unit Chaplain had the man captured, tied down, and tortured to death.
5/2/93: Victorian Royal Army crosses their Bridge into Indonesia. Lon accompanies them.
5/4/93: Discovering he is a werewolf, Lon deserts, knowing that if his condition is discovered, he will be put to death by the Sacellum.
11/12/93: Arriving at a small town in France, Lon is somehow detected by the local priest, tried, and sentenced to death by fire.
11/15/93: Fugitive Group C rescues Lon from being burned at the stake. He decides to join them.
11/27/93: Lon decides to sign up with the Germans, at least for a while, and enters their advanced training course.
2/14/94: While attacking the Nantes isolation camp, Lon momentarily loses control, succumbing to his bestial side. Though deeply disturbed, he puts it aside for the time being.
3/14/94: Fugitive Group C, having destroyed the space station Firmament and dealt with all the loose ends, returns to Germany for rest. Lon decides he's had enough action for a while and leaves, looking for a place to live in peace.
