John Connor has always been a fairly typical Red-Blooded American. Though he served in the Vietnam War, he came out of it as gung-ho as when he went in. He built a fairly good life for himself, married and had kids.
In early 1993, he and his family took their long-dreamed-of trip to Europe, celebrating the success of John's gun store. John didn't particularly like the French, and would have avoided France altogether if he could, but his wife really wanted to see France. Then the invasion hit.
As foreigners, the Connors were early victims of the Inquisition, John's wife and children being taken while he was trying to find a car to get them out of the insanity. When John learned of his family's deaths, he snapped. Since guns didn't work for most folks anymore, he was able to get some quickly, and then he began his vengeance.
John hooked up with Fugitive Group C for a while, when they were passing through France, and he took part in the raid on the concentration camp and in the destruction of Firmament. But when they left France, he parted ways with them, so that he could continue his vendetta.
In December of 1994, as the Church cracked down on anyone with any connection to Fugitive Group C, he was captured and sent to the stake for burning. Fugitive Group C rescued him, but he was killed in the subsequent battle with Malreaux.
