Holmes
Leroy Washington led a rather active life, even before the invasion. During the Vietnam War, he was a USMC sergeant. After the war, he came to Los Angeles and joined the LAPD, eventually becoming the head of a SWAT team.
When the invasion came, the Living Land extended to pretty near L.A.; when a group of gospog attacked a suburb, his SWAT team was ordered to take care of it. In the ensuing battle, casualties on both sides were nearly total. Washington was the only survivor. He went on indefinite leave from the LAPD, determined to do what he could about the invasion.
He served for a little while with the Spartans, the military forces of the Delphi Council, but found that it didn't suit his style. He wandered around for a while, becoming fixated on the gospog which had destroyed his team. He eventually joined Fugitive Group C, and began travelling with them.
In Atlanta, he crossed the ninja known as Osato, earning his longterm enimity by invoking a reality storm upon him. Over the next few months, Osato crossed his path numerous times, each time maiming him further: a finger, an ear, a scar...
Chrome
Somewhere along the line, he lost his soul. It's not really known just when this happened, but it left him without a shadow or a reflection. This was apparently built upon to make him completely invisible to scrying spells and imaging technology.
Deprived of this vital part of him, Holmes turned colder, less human, calling himself Chrome. He no longer minded it when continued wounds slowly whittled away his body. While he finally took down Osato, he later earned the hatred of Damien Foxmoor, an Orrorshan necromancer, who continued the whittling process.
Shortly after his entire exterior had been replaced, his remaining internal organs began to fail quickly, and he had to go all the way... he was evetually a soulless brain inside a robotic shell.
Khrom
Yet another stage in his life began when he came face-to-face with Foxmoor while Damien was performing an unholy ritual. He invoked a reality storm on Damien, hoping to strip him of his powers. Unfortunately, Damien's skill was superior to Chrome's, and Chrome was transformed to Orrorshan reality. Lacking a soul as he did, the result was to transform him into a Horror. He was turned into a metallic skeleton.
His most recent incarnation came after he had finally killed Damien Foxmoor. Recognizing that he himself was a shining example of what he was fighting, he turned to Aysle and Dunad. Deliberate exposure to the border storms eventually changed him into an animated suit of armor. Following this, a lost reality storm with a Nile stela turned him into a Rocket Ranger suit of armor, leading to a shortlived phase as "Captain Saturday."
Following this, he travelled to Aysle and petitioned Dunad to transform him to Ayslish reality. At the culmination of a huge ceremony, Dunad did so, physically transforming him back to a human being in the process. At this point, he decided he would go by Leroy (or Sir Leroy).
While trying to destroy Mobius' Orbital Mind Control Pyramids, Leroy found himself in a mysterious cave complex inside Mt. Kilimanjaro, one that was not there before the invasion. Here, he discovered that he was the reincarnation of Keth-Emet, elder brother of Sutekh...aka Mobius. As Keth-Emet, he was rightful pharoah of the Nile (after his father, Keth-Amon, but before Mobius). After Mobius and Keth-Amon were swallowed by the Void, he claimed the title, though he was not officially consecrated.
Epilogue
In the final battle against the Gaunt Man, Leroy sacrificed himself in the final attack, and disappeared. "Leroy sightings" soon rivalled Elvis sightings, and many conspiracy buffs pointed to odd behavior on the part of Alianora in the years following.
