The Possibility Chalice

Description: This object is a golden chalice, larger than would actually be used for drinking, but not excessively so. It is studded with 6 gems around the lip, 3 rubies and 3 sapphires, alternating. It is well-made, but plain in design. It is not as soft as pure gold would be, but its density matches that of gold.

Function: The Possibility Chalice is an Eternity Shard, carrying the group power of Herald. It was instrumental in lighting the Signal Fire in the Forever City.

History:

7/23/93: The group investigates the underwater Temple Of The Possibility Chalice, only to learn that the Chalice is not there. A recorded mystic message sends them to find Kent Edgeworth.

7/28/93: The group learns that Edgeworth and the Chalice have been taken by a Dark wizard named Amethyst.

8/6/93: The group kills Amethyst and recovers the Chalice.

9/14/93: The group rides on the Orient Express, lured there as part of a trap planned by the Cyberpapacy to steal the Chalice. They meet Katrina Rostov, who has detected the power of the Chalice.

10/9/93: The group uses the Chalice in a ceremony to 'Light the Signal Fire'. At the climax of the ceremony, they use the Herald power to send a message. Much later, evidence is discovered that this message was apparently intended for the so-called 'Space Gods': Mintaka's people.

3/14/94: Isa takes the Chalice and the Idol of Osiris with her when she goes to visit Ambrose. He places them in the British Museum for safekeeping, placing wards on them to protect them.

9/18/94: Ambrose is kidnapped by Alianora; this has the effect of removing his support from the wards on the British Museum.

9/19/94: Damien Foxmoor breaks through the weakened wards for his own purposes. While he does not take the Chalice, this leaves it unprotected.

9/20/94: Dreadnought and several squads of shocktroopers attempt to steal the Possibility Chalice from the British Museum, but are thwarted by Fugitive Group C. Dreadnought does, however, manage to escape with the Idol of Osiris. The group hands the Chalice over to Lord Talbot Whimsey for more secure safekeeping.
