Description: This object is a about the size of a paperback book, apparently made of gold. On one surface are 6 'buttons' apparently made of glass, and a black glass circle about two inches across.
Circumstances Of Discovery: The Golden Computer was found in a bag belonging to Mintaka, after Mintaka's apparent death at the hands of Professor Sharif. Also in the bag was a compass sphere.
The Golden Computer was used to gain entrance to the pyramid which housed Arthur Tree. Arthur did not return the computer after this. Function: The Golden Computer has been named such because the circular glass feature appears to be a screen which can display glyphs and images. The glyphs have been identified as similar to ones seen on the Destiny Tiles. The buttons have been experimented with, but seem to require something special to use (in that they do not respond to Chrome). Katrina Rostov has reported being able to control the device directly with her psychic abilities.
Miscellanous: Buttons 1-4: Scrolling, apparently. Holding down one causes the 'field of view' to scroll in that direction. Holding one down for a long period of time results in continually accelerating scrolling.
Button 5: On/Off
Button 6: Produces one flashing glyph and does not respond to anything until this button is pushed again, at which time it returns to normal mode. Katrina reports that it seemed to be waiting for a specific code at this time.
The device seems to have an automatic power-off function; when left untouched for five minutes, the screen goes blank.
Found in the device have been what appear to be technical diagrams, incredibly long sequences of 6 basic glyphs, and photographs, including one of Mintaka, and another that shows an unidentified reptilian humanoid in the background.
