Description: This object is a knife that resembles a letter-opener. It is mostly plain, but with a decorative design on one side of the 'hilt'. Measurements of its density suggest that it is made of silver, but it is not as soft as a silver knife would be.
Circumstances Of Discovery: The letter opener was found embedded in the chest of an apparent statue, later revealed to be an elemental spirit of some sort, in the sub-basement of Malekith's castle. When it was removed, the statue animated, then went lifeless, leaving behind an emerald which was an Earth Knowledge Stone.
Function: The letter opener disrupted a spell keeping a coffer sealed, in Malekith's basbent. While it was later used to kill a 5th Planting Gospog, the gospog was already mortally wounded, and no special properties were evident in that case. Since then, it has proven to be very useful at cutting magic connections.
Miscellanous: Magical analysis was inconclusive, but suggested that were no actual active spells upon the letter-opener.
The knife was later blessed by the Lady of the Lake.
