Atemi-Waza

Atemi-Waza is the ancestor of modern karate and focusses on swift, powerful attacks.

Prerequisites

To learn Atemi-Waza, a character must have at least one add in Maneuver and must swear an oath of secrecy.

Disciplines

  1. Palm Strike: This attack does STR+3.

  2. Crushing Block: The Crushing Block maneuver is a variant of active defense. An active defense roll is made as usual. If a Melee Weapons, Martial Arts, or Unarmed Combat attack on the Blocking character fails, the attacker takes Defender's STR+3 damage.

  3. Stop Thrust: This active defense is aimed at one attacker. If that attacker misses, then they are Unskilled for the next round.

  4. Sweeping Kick: This attack does a Knock Down if successful; this KD may not be bought off.

  5. Stunning Attack: This attack does +2 damage, but Knock Downs are ignored, and the first wound becomes a Knock Down result.

  6. Posion Immunity: +3 TOU vs. poison.

  7. Whirling Attack: One roll is made for this attack. Anyone within 4 meters may be attacked (or not, at character's discretion) without One On Many penalties. It does STR+2 damage.

  8. Thunder Kick: This costs one P-point and does +5 damage.
