Red Lotus Style

The Red Lotus style of Martial Arts is a Japanese style. It was developed by renegade Shinto priests who lived in a sacred grove south of Edo. There are only some 50 practitioners of the style today, all members of the Sons Of The Wind.

Prerequisites

To learn the Red Lotus style, a character must have at least one add in Meditation.

Disciplines

  1. Palm Strike: This is a STR+3 attack.

  2. Drop Kick: This maneuver launches its target through the air. Each Success Level corresponds to one unit of distance. Damage is Target's Weight Value plus Success Level plus the bonus. Both Target and Attacker are considered Knocked Down. Drop Kick may not be used on two consecutive rounds.

  3. Ki Punch: This attack does STR+5, but the character may not attack for three` rounds after doing a Ki Punch.

  4. Kick Disarm: If this maneuver would do damage higher than the target's STR, the target is disarmed.

  5. Sweeping Kick: This attack does a Knock Down if successful; this KD may not be bought off.

  6. Healing: The character may make a Mind roll against a DN of about 12 to produce a healing potion that will heal one wound (ineffective versus Mortal Wounds). It takes four and a half hours to produce and loses its efficacy in a matter of minutes, so it cannot be stored.

  7. Iron Fist: STR+6 Damage

  8. Cyclone Attack: For two possibilities, the character may make up to five separate attacks on separate opponents without multi-action penalties. These attacks are +2 to hit and do STR+4 damage.
