Shao Lin Style
The Shao Lin style of Martial Arts is a traditional Chinese style. It is the
oldest extant style, having been developed by Shao Lin monks about 1000
years ago. This is the style traditionally referred to as Kung Fu.
Prerequisites
To learn the Shao Lin style, a character must have at least one add in
Meditation and Faith, and must swear an oath of celibacy.
Disciplines
-
Leaping Kick: This attack does STR+4 damage. It may not be performed in
two consecutive rounds.
-
Instant Up: The character recovers instantly from Knock Downs.
-
Crushing Block: The Crushing Block maneuver is a variant of active defense.
An active defense roll is made as usual. If a Melee Weapons, Martial Arts,
or Unarmed Combat attack on the Blocking character fails, the attacker takes
Defender's STR+3 damage.
-
Dagger Dance: This maneuver requires a sword or dagger, and involves an
intricate dance including reflecting flashes of light from the blade.
This technique allows the character to use their Martial Arts skill to
perform a Maneuver against their opponent. If it fails, the character
is Confused in the next round.
-
Heart Punch: Done as a Vital Blow/Strike (-8 to hit, STR+6 Damage), if it
is successful, its target is Setback for one round.
-
Whirling Attack: One roll is made for this attack. Anyone within 4 meters
may be attacked (or not, at character's discretion) without One On Many
penalties. It does STR+2 damage.
-
Spirit Shout: This shout is an attack (Martial Arts +3 vs target's
SPI+3) that does SPI+3 damage. The character using it will take 5 Shock.
-
Thunder Kick: This costs one P-point and does +5 damage.
