The group is contacted by Lord Talbot Whimsey, acting as the agent for a consortium of the power companies of London (apart from the CPGL from "Power Cyp-Ply", of course. They give Isa and Mike a reward for their efforts.
Mike and Isa ask Talbot for some assistance on several practical issues, including a hospital stay, a lab for Mike, and information about what's going on elsewhere in the world.
In giving them news, one item gets Mike's attention, about an archeological dig going on in the Nile Empire, in quest of an ancient artifact. Knowing the power Dr. Mobius can gain from such artifacts, Mike decides they should stop Mobius from getting the item. Talbot arranges for a contact of his, Colonel Ben-David of the Mossad, to help them get into the Nile Empire.
Once in the Nile, they set out for Abu ben-Gharadiq, the town mentioned as the excavation site. Along they way, they encounter a gospog company on the move, and are helped out in the ensuing battle by Leroy "Holmes" Washington, who had been following the gospog.
Making their way to the town, they discover that everyone in town appears to be in a trance, except for an odd old man with an outsized hearing aid and an eyepatch. They eventually find some shocktroopers and fight their way through them to find the headquarters of Professor Sharif, and his HypnoRay. After an extended battle, he flees and attempts to lead them into a trap, but Isa calls down mystic flame and burns him severely; he is last seen apparently being buried alive by a cave-in.
The group dismantles the HypnoRay (Mike keeping a few nice spare parts) and tries to puzzle out Sharif's notebook, which they have found. They are approached by the old man they met before who offers to sell them information. They pay, but his information is not too useful. They then ask him about the notebook, but though he puzzles over it as well, can tell them little of import.
The group finally deciphers the notebook and heads out to find the artifact. Unfortunately, The Insidious Wu Han is already digging not too far away. The group defeats a patrol of shocktroopers and Mike cobbles together a radio-control device to send a grenade-laden truck into Wu Han's tent. In the confusion they make their way to the correct dig site.
Once there, they discover that a couple of CyberKnights have beaten them there, resulting in another fight. They find photographs of Sharif's notebook on the CyberKnights and deduce from the pictures that they were taken by the old man in the town. Entering the buried pyramid, they make their way through a number of traps and end up fighting a ninja in the final chamber. Leaving the pyramid with the Idol Of Osiris, they learn that their dig has been discovered by Wu Han's forces, and only escape with the aid of a freak dust storm.
Returning to Abu ben Gharadiq, they find the old man (referred to in the notes they found as "JF8") gone. Swearing to track him down, they make their way out of the Nile Empire back into Israel.
