Campaign Timeline

October 1994

10/1/94
Chrome enters surgery, while Ta'eesh and Sparks receive medical attention.

Back in Aysle, the long-planned invasion begins in fits and starts: Uthorion is dead, the stela for Germany was not planted, there is no reality bomb for Ireland, the gospog weapons caches were destroyed, and Stockholm is well-alerted. The invasion dissolves almost instantly into scattered skirmishes.

Mike regains consciousness/coherency, gets himself together, and heads for Bremen, looking for the others.

10/2/94
Arriving in Bremen, Mike learns that he's a few days behind the others, and attempts to use his Chrome Detector to find them. Failing, he asks the Germans for help. While waiting, he reassembles his vest.

10/3/94
From their contacts in the Resistance, the Germans learn the group's approximate location. With this information, Mike is able to recalibrate the Chrome Detector and pinpoint their location.

10/10/94
Armed with his new backpack electroray, Mike uses the boosters available in Bremen to teleport directly to the rest of the group. His arrival triggers a small reality storm, alerting the Church to the presence of the Resistance forces. The group drives south in a hurry.

10/11/94
Arriving in Orreaga, the group scouts the town, finding a tavern with a few Church personnel. While Chrome rigs a Church Police hovercar to explode, Sparks is confronted by Roger LeGrand, an old rival of his. A black-haired woman with the Police and LeGrand seems fascinated by Ta'eesh, and the feeling is mutual. When the bomb goes off, killing two Church Police, the woman and Roger get in a fight with the group. Roger is wounded, and the woman grabs him and cyberleaps away.

Escaping from town, the group manages to lose themselves in the Pyrenees, and set out on foot to find the local abbey, headquarters of the Church forces. They wander all night, getting lost in the mountains.

10/12/94
The group finds their way to the 'fated pass' where Roland fell in battle. After poking around a bit, they find Roland's tomb, which turns out to be the home of a gargoyle named Francisco. With Francisco's permission, the group attunes to the Horn of Roland, but aren't allowed to take it.

Leaving the tomb, the group is attacked by a 'devil' (4th planting Cyberpapal gospog) and his coven of 'witches' (3rd planting CP gospog). With assistance from Francisco, they destroy them, but Chrome is mortally wounded. Chrome is healed by a potion recommended by Umbras.

Making their way back to their van, the group sleeps.

10/13/94
Reaching the vicinity of the abbey, Chrome scouts it out. Deciding to contact the local Resistance, they meet Sister Marguerite and her commando team. Together, they plan an assault on the abbey.

10/14/94
The assault on the abbey begins. In the end, most of the abbey is destroyed and there are heavy casualties on both sides. The creme of both sides escapes to fight another day, however.

10/15/94
The group lies low, hiding out with Sister Marguerite and the surviving commandos. Chrome's medical condition begins to deteriorate, however.

10/16/94
As Chrome's condition becomes critical, Sister Marguerite helps the group make it across the country to near Barcelona, where there is a Resistance cyberdoc. Chrome enters surgery.

10/23/94
Chrome exits surgery.

10/25/94
The group (sans Fujiwara) return to Bremen, well-rested, where they learn the Fujiwara has still not been heard from. They receive a letter from Katrina, asking them to find Fujiwara.

The group flies to Los Angeles, for some not-well-determined reason.

10/26/94
Arriving in Los Angeles, the group has a run-in with a local gang, armed with an anti-tank weapon. They nearly have a run-in with a SWAT team.

Flying to Sacramento, they discover that the area recovered in the 'Sacramento Miracle' is actually now a Nippon Tech pure zone. They decide to fly back to Bremen and visit Aysle, looking for clues near where Fujiwara apparently disappeared.

10/27/94
Mike is transformed to Ayslish while crossing the stormfront, and is posessed by JF8, who is then driven off by Ta'eesh.

Investigation at Oxford reveals that Fujiwara never made it there. Attempts to track him fail. The group decides to fly to Japan to investigate.

10/28/94
Visiting the monastery of the Sons of The Wind, the group turns up nothing.

10/29/94
In Tokyo, the group attempts to use a public library computer terminal to hack their way into Kanawa Corporation databases. When they encounter security, they leave quickly, only to have the library explode behind them. They decide to try and find a Kanawa facility in Geneva they have heard about.

10/30/94
The group arrives back in Bremen and makes their way towards the Cyberpapal stormfront in Switzerland. Crossing over, Sparks is transformed to Cyberpapal reality, gaining a cybereye.

10/31/94
Arriving in Geneva, the group looks for a Kanawa facility but fails. Ta'eesh uses a spell and learns that Fujiwara is nearby, and they track him to a warehouse belonging to Zurich Resources. Assaulting the warehouse, they discover a Nippon pure zone in the basement, and a cell holding Fujiwara. Freeing him, they leave quickly.
