people and run amok, and Dr. Hongo has become a werewolf, infecting
a number of others. The group defeats Dr. Hongo, unfortunately killing
not only her but two of her subservient werewolves. In the process of
freeing Mara-24 from Tarenthellin's influence, a self-destruct device
hooked up to the gate generator is activated...in the end, only the

With the help of Gamera Akira, The group brings the crippled Akashan mothership
back to Teotihuacan, where they surprise Wu Han and Ryuichi Kanawa (now Deviceless).
Taking them into custody (though they later discover this to be a trick), they
have Dr. Liebermann begin merging the mothership and the battle pyramid, to get them
to the Moon. Sparks rejoins them, giving them additional information about what's

Waiting for Dr. Liebermann to finish, the group calls upon divine aid to lead them
to the solution to the Comaghaz problem: Living Land pure zones, which debilitate
the virus' group mind and allow it to be cleansed with miracles from Lanala. It's
a rather limited solution, but they start arranging for "Living Land Gardens" in
cities around the world. Also, Leroy uses the Pharoahs' Crown to order the Nile
maelstrom bridges to lead back to Terra.

The group flies to the Moon in the Battle Pyramid/Mothership hybrid. There, while
trying to break the carved inscriptions which allow the Gaunt Man's spell, they are
attacked by Montgomery Edmonds, but ultimately defeat him. In defeat, he calls upon
the Gaunt Man to bring them all from the Moon to Earth, where they confront the Gaunt
Man directly. The battle goes poorly, leading to an invocation of Dunad...but this
was expected, and Dunad is trapped. Having tripped the trap, however, the way is now
open for another divine presence: Baron Samedi possesses Leroy, with his full cooperation,
and the Gaunt Man is trapped within the Eternity Sphere, but Leroy is gone. The moonfall
spell is reversed by the freed Dunad, and the long process of recovery begins.
