Campaign Timeline

December 1994

12/1/94
The group travels to Cooperstown, New York, inside the Living Land. There, they collect baseball-related talismans. Returning to Boston, Fujiwara calls on some favors from Hideo Nozuki, and old friend of his who is high up in the ranks of the Baseball Commission. Using his telepathy to pass the exams, Fujiwara gets himself and Sparks named official umpires for Game 2.

Boston wins the first game, 9-0.

12/2/94
Game 2 of the World Series. Fujiwara is an umpire at second, Sparks is the home plate umpire, Khrom is the San Diego Chicken, and Ta'eesh is hiding in the Green Monster. They use all their skill and talismans throughout the game to counteract the advantage the cybernetics give the Red Sox, resulting in a 9-8 Padres score as the game enters the bottom of the ninth. The stress finally proves to be too much for Ivan Calderon, who suffers cyberpsychosis and goes berserk. A chain reaction results in a brawl. Khrom, as the San Diego Chicken, taunts the cybernetic players into a full murderous frenzy, and their cybernetic nature is revealed for all to see, on national television. But their cybernetics are not optimized for combat, and the group is able to take them down without too much trouble. The local (Church) police try to hustle away the president, but the group intervenes and the Spartans prevent the attempt. The people of New England not only see that the CyberChurch was here, but that non-cybered Core Earth people can beat them. A Glory and story, all in one.

Destroying the stelae they found earlier, the group causes the nearly-complete destruction of the Quebec City maelstrom bridge and shatters the Cyberpapacy's hold on New England. The U.S. government mops up, wiping out the remaining presence.

12/3/94
The group makes another run into the Living Land to recover the rest of the items from the Baseball Hall of Fame, which is now rapidly crumbling away. The items are handed over to Hideo Nozumi. A lot of cleaning up around the edges is done.

12/15/94
Learning of another apparent Tharkoldu arrival in Los Angeles, the group travels there. They meet Tarenthellin, an elf working for the Japanese and figure out the locations of the inactive (as yet) Tharkoldu stelae. Heading for the first one, they are attacked by a gang of cybernetically enhanced bikers and then a technodemon. They defeat him, at the cost of the battlevan.

Unfortunately, they are promptly distracted by the arrival of the Battle Pyramid Of Doom, which is raiding any number of Hollywood and Los Angeles landmarks. After foiling a raid on the Museum Of Theater and Radio, with the aid of the newly-arrived Mike, they hide in the Spruce Goose and are nicely brought on board the pyramid, whereupon they fight their way to the control room.

The Pyramid turns out to be commanded by the Brain Of Professor Sharif! After a battle, Fujiwara uses his telepathy to read the schematics of the pyramid and transmits them to Mike. Armed with this knowledge, Mike is able to hotwire the controls, ejecting Sharif from the pyramid and destroying him with the pyramid's weapons. The crew is off-loaded and left without vehicles in Mexico while the pyramid is returned to Los Angeles to return the stolen objects.

12/16/94
Continuing their returning of artifacts and such, the group also deals with assorted loose ends: the Tharkoldu stelae, rewiring the pyramid for easier use, and so on.

12/23/94
The group takes off in the pyramid, heading for the Nile where, based on things Sharif has said, they know Dr. Geurink has built a Super Reality Bomb.

12/24/94
The group fights their way through Living Gods to get to Dr. Geurink and, surprisingly, Malekith. After fighting Geurink's Magnetic Repeller and surviving his Deadly Orgone Radiation Projector, they kill both him and Malekith. Searching Geurink's notes, Mike learns that the Super Reality Bomb is flawed, and will kill millions....and has been planted beneath Malreaux's palace in Avignon. Allying with Sword Of God Jericho, who have come on a mission to capture or kill them, Fugitive Group C set out for Avignon in the Battle Pyramid.

12/25/94
Arriving in Avignon, the group rescues several friends and comrades from being burned at the stake and battles their way into the Palais des Papes. There, they fight a battle with Malreaux. Cross transfers himself to Malreaux's body, and with the help of Fujiwara and the others, momentarily takes control of the CyberPope. Meanwhile, Mike teleports away to find the Super Reality Bomb. Mike, the bomb, and the entire basement disappear without a trace.

Cross/Malreaux gives a sermon thanking Fugitive Group C and Sword Of God Jericho for saving Avignon/France. After the speech, Ta'eesh kills the helpless body of the CyberPope and Cross flees into the GodNet. The group returns to Germany to help the Germans rebuild from an earlier Cyberpapal attack.

12/29/94
Spaceships land in Peru, gaining the instant attention of the world, especially Jim.
