Campaign Timeline

July 1995

7/1/95
Sparks, Marie and Henri drive to Avignon, having some trouble with some bandits along the way. In Avignon, they meet with a former Church Policeman named Moreau.

7/2/95
After finding the apparent location of Carolus' drug factory, Sparks encounters Marc Normand, an old friend who has many connections in Avignon. They arrange for a scheme to destroy the drug factory.

7/3/95
Fujiwara suffers a preocognitive dream with many very disturbing elements to it, suggesting that something horrible will happen in the next couple of months. Thanks to his telepathic powers, the dream is shared by the rest of the group, except for Chrome.

Meanwhile, Sparks attacks the drug factory, getting Carolus' notes, but Carolus is killed. During Sparks' escape, Marie is captured, but he turns himself in and uses the Gate power to escape with her.

7/4/95
Operation Crucible. The group pulls one of Mobius' Texas stelae, after an incredibly difficult fight against Hassan-Ra. Chrome is transformed to Nile reality. The US and Mexican armies move into the collapsed stelae zones, but the western zone only shrinks slightly and a minizone remains around Houston.

Meanwhile, Sparks and Marie travel back to Marseilles and back into Core Earth.

7/5/95
The group travels to Houston. There, they make contact with the 'resistance' (mainly former Spartans) and learn about the local situation. They decide to investigate activity at Intercontinental Airport while taking out the stela near it.

Investigation reveals a huge dome disguised by Weird Science but alerts the Nile forces to the presence. They decide to push on for the stela and find an ambush waiting. A mysterious Orrorshan, Montgomery Edmonds, shows up just as LeMorte disappears.

The attempt to pull the stela fails, but Alianora intervenes in a fairly enigmatic fashion. LeMorte rejoins the group, but as they need to recuperate, decides to infiltrate the Nile forces at the Airport.

Meanwhile, Sparks and Marie return to Oxford, where they turn over Carolus' notes to a team of alchemists, who begin working on producing a cure for Carolus' addictive potions.

7/8/95
All healed, the group learns of an impending operation at the Airport and heads in, but fails to make contact with LeMorte (due to interference from Alianora, as it later turns out).

After wrecking a Reality Bomb Cannon, the group discovers a ready-to-use stela protected by a Walking God of Ra. Battle results in Montgomery Edmonds kidnapping the Walking God, just as he had made off with Umbras a little previously. The group retreats.

7/11/95
Still missing LeMorte, the group decides to go to Aysle. Along the way, they learn that Ambrose was kidnapped and replaced some time previously by Alianora.

7/14/95
The group fights off a ragged band of nonhuman bandits in Aysle. They rescue one Illiya Flynn, a wanderer who is converted to Dunad and decides to hook up with them for a little while.

Proceeding to the Shrine of Dunad, a huge ceremony is held, resulting in the conversion of Kathryn and Chrome to Ayslish reality...and the transformation of Chrome back into the wholly-human Leroy Washington.

7/17/95
As Kathryn, Fujiwara, and Leroy emerge from the ceremony, Simon Carr issues an ultimatum to all of Aysle: submit to him within two weeks or die. The group goes into furious motion and begins organizing a plan to take on Carr.

7/18/95
The group plans, plots, and sends messages furiously, calling in many markers.

The group sets out for Tharend Manor, intending to take on Gerrik Tharend.

7/22/95
The group finally reaches Tharend Manor. Two Spectral Knights are killed as Kathryn confronts Gerrik and kills him.

7/26/95
With as many forces as could be gathered, the Houses of Aysle begin to set sail for the small island where Carr is based. FGC is in the first group, with others following behind.

7/30/95
The lead ships in the armada reach Carr's island. Fugitive Group C attacks, causing Carr to begin his ritual early. He uses the captive Avatar of Ra as a symbolic sacrifice and invokes Corba'al through his captive, Umbras, to consume the sun of Aysle. The group is unable to save Ra, but they free Umbras/Corba'al from his bindings, ruining the ritual. After Carr flees, the group manages to convert a few of the giant leaders to Honor, then they open a Gate to send the giants home.

7/31/95
As the forces of Honor gather on the island, at the top of a maelstrom bridge to St. Petersburg, the group descends the bridge. After fighting their way through an army of undead, they confront Simon Carr. An attempt to bring the Army of Light across causes Carr to collapse the bridge, but an invocation of Dunad saves most of the Army. The undead army is destroyed by the reality bomb which the group had captured long before. Carr is finally defeated, and Drakacanus dropped into the Void.

Sparks, crossing the bridge, is dropped into the Void himself.
