Campaign Timeline

September 1994

9/2/94
Ninjas attack the group in the German facility at Bremen, apparently after Sparks. The ninjas are defeated, but Chrome is heavily damaged by an EMP grenade and sent deep into cyberfugue.

A second group of ninjas simultaneously attack the base hospital, killing several soldiers, critically wounding Toshi and stealing the comatose body of Osato.

No evidence is found of a third team of ninjas, though later information suggests that there were, in fact, three teams involved.

Investigation suggests that the ninjas either came from or were heading to northern Norway. Since the group has evidence suggesting that there is a Nippon facility at Tromsoy, they decide to go there.

9/3/94
The group sails around the Ayslish seas.

9/4/94
The group is dropped off just inside Aysle and begins making their way to Tromsoy.

9/5/94
The group reaches Tromsoy, ferries over to Tromsoydalen. In the process, Ta'eesh is mistaken for Malekith, and Fujiwara is mistaken for Mr. Tanaka, giving them the run of the place, including the Nippon facility. They investigate and learn that facility is dedicated to finding Excalibur.

9/6/94
Attempting to leave the facility, the group is found out. They win a short battle, including Chrome slugging it out with a 5th planting gospog, destroy the Nippon hardpoint, and free the dwarven slaves being used as diggers.

Glory: Mike gets between two security robots firing chain guns, and Tricks them into firing. When he teleports out, the two robots destroy each other.

Escaping the compound, Ta'eesh (as Malekith) orders an assault on the compound and then leaves. They circle about to the place where Excalibur should be, to discover only Excalibur's scabbard. They find a series of clues, which they interpret as referring to Loch Ness and Stonehenge, among other places.

9/7/94
Returning to Core Earth waters, the group notifies the Germans about the attack planned for Oslo. Armed with weapons cache locations, the Germans make plans to destroy them. The group decides to sail for Saroya.

9/9/94
Arriving at Saroya, the group tells the story of their last Glorious deeds to the only locals they can find. That night they hve nightmares reminiscent of ones sent the last time they ran into Victor Kingman.

9/10/94
Using Stelae Sense, the group locates the northernmost Ayslish stelae. After a difficult contest, Chrome severs it from the other stelae and pockets it.

9/11/94
The group meets with a 'messenger' of Malekith's, is picked up by Captain Ivar, and heads for Loch Ness.

9/12/94
Crossing into what should be an Aysle pure zone, the group discovers it is not; in fact, it seems to be Orrorshan. They meet and dispatch a group of brigands, except for their mysterious leader, Umbras. Later they rescue George and Lorna Colton, a brother and sister, from an octopoid creature very similar to the one encountered on Christmas Island more than a year before. They spend the night at the Coltons' home in Inverness.

9/13/94
With the Coltons, the group heads for Urquhart Castle. They arrive after an extended scuffle with some animated and quite vicious plantlife. At the castle, they discover that Lorna is in fact, the reincarnated Victor Kingman, and that George is in fact a weretiger/gospog. With some assistance from Umbras, Lorna and George are defeated and Kingman is given the final death.

Glory: Sparks opens up with a borrowed GodMeeter, reducing George Colton to a pile of gospog juice with a single volley of shots.

9/14/94
Recovering from their wounds with some assistance from Jack Blue, the group decides to cleanse Loch Ness of the abomination filling it. Mike constructs an impromptu diving bell, and half the group descends into the lake. Another extended battle follows, resulting in the creature's destruction.

9/15/94
The party recovers from the events of the past few days. Sparks attempts to tell the story of the glorious battles to the people of Inverness, but is driven from town. The party decides to go visit Ambrose, in Salisbury.

9/18/94
Ambrose is kidnapped from his home in Salisbury, apparently by one Alianora.

9/19/94
Damien Foxmoor breaks through the now-weakened wards on the British Museum, and takes a few minor books and artifacts.

9/20/94
The party arrives in Salisbury. When they attempt to visit Ambrose, they find Damien Foxmoor instead. He flees, and the party learns of Ambrose's being kidnapped. A message from Talbot Whimsey brings them to London, where the ARA has just bombed the Royal Courts Of Justice.

The party then discovers a Nile Empire force robbing the British Museum, led by Dreadnought and using the Submersible Pyramid Tank! In the end, Dreadnought escapes with the Idol of Osiris and an unconscious Mike, but the Possibility Chalice is saved.

Isa reincarnates in the near vicinity during a hostage crisis, which is promptly dealt with.

9/21/94
The party rests and gets medical attention while trying to decide what to do.

9/22/94
The party travels by sea to Ireland, where their connections to the Germans get them transportation to the edge of the mixed zone. They then proceed on foot to Downpatrick, where they know the Nile base to be located.

9/23/94
The party locates the Nile base. Chrome gloriously dispatches a gospog, then ingloriously dispatches a tank. Isa rescues Mike from the Omega Chamber. Ta'eesh transforms a Weird Scientist into a mage. Sparks steals a blimp and a reality bomb, only to be gassed by Wu Han. Ta'eesh transforms Dreadnought into an ogre. Chrome destroys the Pyramid Tank at the cost of his own right arm.

Glory: When a 3rd planting Nile gospog appears, Chrome opens fire with his GodMeeter, destroying it in one incredibly violent salvo.

Glory: Battling Wu Han in a martial arts duel, in a dirigible high above the ground, Fujiwara gets in an unbelievable blow, which knocks Wu Han from the gondola and into open air.

9/24/94
Fujiwara takes Mike back to London, while the rest of the party takes a blimp flight to Cornwall, to seek 'the corrupted lake'. They find it, and the transformed Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station. They kill Holcombe za-Malekith and free the Lady of the Lake.

9/25/94
The party goes to pick up Fujiwara in London. Final preparations are made for a trip to confront Thorfinn Bjanni.

9/26/94
Travelling by dirigible to the Shetlands, the party finds and fights Thorfinn Bjanni...Uthorion. After a seemingly eternal battle, Isa is apparently killed, but comes back and finishes Bjanni, who promptly transfers himself into the body of a dragon, only to be killed by Isa, who sacrifices herself to take him down.

Meanwhile, in Oxford, an assassination attempt leaves Lady Ardinay poisoned and fighting for her life. Drakacanus is stolen, as well.

Ta'eesh decides to dispose of his staff by putting it in the cloak, and does the same for all of the corrupt magic items he can find. The cloak shrinks into a small pouch.

9/27/94
Having learned of an imminent stelae planting from recovered papers, the group hurries in several directions. Fujiwara goes to London, to warn Ardinay of the upcoming attempt on her life, not knowing it has already occurred. Chrome, Ta'eesh, and Sparks head for Germany to prevent the stelae planting.

Ta'eesh has an odd encounter with Umbras and the mysterious elf who claims to be Ta'eesh's father.

While passing through the Aysle/Core Earth reality storm, Sparks is posessed by the odd spirit which has been showing up in similar situations. This time, the posession lasts long enough to let the group identify it as the disembodied spirit of JF8! Ta'eesh expels it from Sparks' body.

9/28/94
Arriving in Germany, the group is waiting when Jarlsson's agents show up to plant the new stela. The agents are dealt with, but the stela is planted anyway. Reacting instantly, Sparks invokes a reality storm upon the stela and transforms it, rendering it inert.

9/29/94
Resting at the facility in Bremen, the group hears from Fujiwara, who is in London keeping an eye on the recuperating Mike. With Chrome's health wavering, the group decides to head immediately into France to get Chrome repaired. Taking the new battlevan, they cross into France, suffering only minor effects from the border storms.

9/30/94
Trying to stay inconspicuous, the group manages to cross most of France without being detected. They make contact with the resistance and are directed to a small cyberdoc near Paris.
