Question and Answer List

This is a list of the various questions people have had in the campaign to date, along with the information known on each one. If you think of any more questions you'd like to see on this list, or if you have some information on one of these that I didn't list, tell me and I'll add it.

    1. Where do P-Rated people come from?

When confronted by alien realities and a difficult moral choice, those people who make a firm decision and stick with it, avoiding waffling, seem to end up as P-Rated. This is referred to as a Moment of Crisis, and the process is known as transcendence.

Some people seem to become p-rated during reality storms as well. In general, this may be the more common method, because P-rateds are commonly known as "stormers" to the invaders.

    2. What happens to people in invaded territories?

P-rated people are unaffected by invasion. Ords are likely to transform to the new reality. Upon being transformed, they are drained of all their residual possibility energy. This is accompanied by their generally losing hope and fully accepting their new status.

If transformed people move from one reality to another without having their spirits lifted, without having their hopes restored, without being 'refilled' with P-energy, then they are likely to die. It has been learned that telling stories about great acts and feats of heroism can 'refill' people, if the stories are of sufficient local relevance.

    3. How are the alien realities imposed?

As best as can be figured out, most territory is controlled by the presence of objects known as stelae. It seems to require being surrounded by stelae, and stelae must be within a certain distance of each other.

Also, some invaders have shown themselves able to create artificial hardpoints, which mark the center of an 'island' of their reality.

As well, the "Space Gods" have created organisms known as "Reality Trees" which project a mixed zone around them. The nature of the mixed zone depends on the reality of a being who bonds with the tree during its growth.

    4. What's the deal with Eternity Shards?

Eternity Shards are objects of significance, have reservoirs of possibility energy that can be tapped, and impart a strong spiritual feeling when held. Some Eternity Shards may have special powers that can be accessed if a group of people become specially attuned to them. They are eagerly sought by agents of the invaders, especially Mobius.

    5. Why are different areas 'Pure', 'Dominant', or 'Mixed'?

It seems to have something to do with the numbers of persons belonging to each reality; if there aren't enough persons of the invading reality around, it may turn out Mixed. Pure zones tend to be surrounding Maelstrom bridges as well.
