Getting there
Lovely Christchurch, New Zealand is the city from which all McMurdo Station personnel depart. While we were waiting to get outfitted in our cold weather gear and catch our transport (a C-130 Hercules flown by the New Zealand air force), we got to walk around the city, so green in high spring. We had some nice dinners out together, see how our strong personality traits come out in this dinner VIDEO! We had some great views from the plane of mountain after mountain covered in snow (Snowbird on crack!) and amazing, Europa-like fractures in sea ice.
