Fan near Al Ain

It was fitting to spend our last day in the field at an alluvial fan, this one SE of Al Ain. It was situated at the base of a ridge related to the anticline, which we dubbed "brother of Jebel Hafeet". We did a bit of offroading to get there, and spend time walking up the feeder canyon. The rocks were all limestones with interesting weathering textures and containing nuumulites in some cases. We then met the university Geography Department chair, and he invited us there for a tour of their new building, where we also met the dean and observed a class in action.
