Grand Canyon Sep 06
Thanks to the organizing prowess of Dave O'Brien, and to the tenacity of participants Jason Barnes, Catherine Neish, Nicole Baugh, and Tamara Goldin (and Jani Radebaugh!), we successfully hiked through the Grand Canyon. We started at the North Rim Kaibab Trail (a group first!), and hiked to Bright Angel Campground, then across the river to Horn Creek Campground and Monument Creek Campground, and then we hiked out the Hermit Trail to the South Rim. Maybe someday I'll annotate all of these pictures! We had wonderful weather, enjoyed very pleasant campsites, and of course saw phenomenal scenery. The Kaibab and Hermit trails are especially strong in the deep red Supai Group sandstone/siltstone/shales, and these are still vivid in my mind.
