This page lists a core-dump of all my computer related experience, including platforms, software, operating systems and utilities. I have not listed every system and software package I have ever come into contact with, because some are clearly no longer relevant (say, like TRS-80's and Scripsit, for instance). The list below is intended to show the breadth of my experience as a user. I have at least some introduction to any item listed, while some (like UNIX, PC's, MS-Word) I am highly familar with and use on a daily basis.

Computers/Platforms: PC's MacIntoshes Sun Workstations Amigas

Operating Systems: MS-DOS Windows 95, 98, NT MAC-OS UNIX/Linux also X-Windows, Open Windows and CDE operating environments

Internet/Networking:

• Extensive use of internet functions, world wide web and networked PC's/MacIntoshes.
• Accessed the web using Netscape and Internet Explorer.
• Used various search engines such as Google, Lycos and Yahoo.
• Used HTML to design and post web pages. For example, see this page and any linked pages prepared by me!
• Accessed e-mail using mail and mailtool, and moved files with FTP and Fetch.
• Used networked MAC's and PC's with filesharing.

Special Programs/Image Processing/Other Experience:

• Programming
  • Some familiarity with FORTRAN and IDL.
  • Created Macros for Excel applications, PDF's and UNIX scripts to run batch programs.
    

• Image Processing
  • Have used highly specialized image processing software as follows:
    • ISIS - This is an image manipulation software designed by the U.S. Geological Survey. I used this software to analyze multi-spectral (5 band) images of the surface of the Moon.
    • IDLcv - This is an IDL utility called cv (Cube View) used to analyze image data cubes from ISIS.
  • Have used a Geographical Information System (GIS) from ERDAS called Imagine to analyze lunar craters.
  
  

• Modeling
  • Used SQL, a 2D finite element code, to model the amount of impact melt produced in impacts into the Venusian surface. This code used the ANEOS equations of state for different materials.
