Turkey 3/27
This morning we flew to Antalya. Then we visited the ancient ruin of
Perge. It contains a theater and a
stadium ruin. The main street is
well preserved and includes ruins of shops and an aquifer that divides the two-way
street. There are ruins of an Agora
(market place) from the Hellenistic and Roman times that include ionic and Corinthian
columns. We had lunch at a harbor restaurant
and then walked through the old town area to Hadrian’s Gate. Then we checked into our sea side hotel
and some of us walked the beach before dinner.
