Death Valley National Park, CA
Feb 27 - March 2, 2009

Description

I was out in Death Valley for the Death Valley Double Century bike race on Feb 28th. It was nearly 200 miles with 9000' of elevation gain, and I finished in just over 14 hours. Fortunately, I had enough energy to explore the park by car and on foot the next day, and here's some photos.

The NPS Website for Death Valley is here.

Trailhead for Mosaic Canyon, where I did a short hike. It's named after the Mosaic Conglomerate rock that makes up much of the Canyon, but it is also notable for cutting through a layer of marble, which is pretty neat.
