Dr. Peter D. Lanagan: K/T Field Trip

Background

In Spring 2000, the semester field trip took us to the Raton Basin in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico (which was then largely on fire due to a proscribed burn that went bad). We examined deposits of explosive volcanism related to the Valles Caldera and ejecta deposits from the K/T impact.
