Venus:
VTGCM equtorial vertical winds and their diurnal variations for SMIN
conditions: w (vertical wind) at LAT = 2.5N, shows that winds are
the strongest on the dayside (0.51 m/sec) and are slowed down at the terminators.
Nightside winds have a small subsidence component of 0.37 m/s.
Earth:
TIEGCM equatorial vertical winds and their diurnal variations for SMIN
conditions: w (vertical wind) at LAT = 2.5N, shows the largest variation
at the terminators. Morning terminator has downwelling winds of -1.94 m/sec
and evening terminator has upwelling winds of 2.11 m/sec in the exosphere.
Mars:
MTGCM equatorial vertical winds and their diurnal variations for SMIN
conditions: w (vertical wind) at LAT = 2.5N, shows
strong upwelling winds
on the dayside (w = 2.08 m/sec) and downwelling winds (w = -2.47 m/sec)
on the nightside of the upper thermosphere.
