Venus:
VTGCM equtorial vertical winds and their diurnal variations for SMIN
conditions: w (vertical wind) at LAT = 2.5N, shows that winds are
the strongest on the dayside (0.73 m/sec) and are slowed down at the terminators.
Nightside winds have a small subsidence component of 0.57 m/s.
Earth:
TIEGCM equatorial vertical winds and their diurnal variations for SMIN
conditions: w (vertical wind) at LAT = 2.5N, shows the largest variation
at the terminators. Morning terminator has downwelling winds of -2.70 m/sec
and evening terminator has upwelling winds of 3.64 m/sec in the exosphere.
Mars:
MTGCM equatorial vertical winds and their diurnal variations for SMIN
conditions: w (vertical wind) at LAT = 2.5N, shows
strong upwelling winds
on the dayside (w = 2.78 m/sec) and downwelling winds (w = -5.75 m/sec)
on the nightside of the upper thermosphere.
