To print duplex from a Windows PC or a Mac, use the Print/Print Setup/Print Preview GUI to select double-sided printing. To print duplex from a Solaris machine, use the appropriate -dup queue.

If you are running Windows 7 or 10, you can add a network printer from the following list:

    To print duplex from a Windows PC or a Mac, use the Print/Print Setup/Print Preview GUI to select double-sided printing. To print duplex from a Solaris machine, use the appropriate -dup queue.

  2. Login on your Windows PC as administrator or a user in the administrator group.

  3. Add the printer using HP JetDirect, which comes pre-installed with Windows 10.

    Click Settings -> Printers -> Add Printer.
    Click Next.
    Click Local printer.
    (Yes, you click "local" to add a network printer using HP JetDirect.)

    Unclick "look for plug-n-play device".
    (This is a rough paraphrase.)
    Click Create a new port.
    Click Standard TCP/IP port.
    Click Next.

    Type the printer name in first field.
    (For hp4300-351a enter the printer's IP address instead.)

    The second field will fill in automatically.

    Click Next and wait a moment for the driver selection screen to come up.

    Select the printer manufacturer (e.g., HP).
    Select the printer model, or the closest matching entry.

    Windows will find and load the correct printer driver, which is usually already on the c:/ drive.

    Click Next.
    Click No.
    Click Do not share.
    Click Yes.
    Click Finish.
    Click OK.

  1. If you do not have a pin to the copier, please go to the LPL Konica Request Form and request a pin.
  2. Download the Windows driver from: LPL Computing Resources .
  3. Click on the zip file to unzip it, if needed.
  4. Double click on the installer: Setup64
  5. Click "Yes" when the "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" pops up.
  6. Select all default options, enter the administrator password for the machine and install it.  If the printer is not found, please click on "Specify the Printer...", then click on "Refer to...". Choose "IPv4, IPV6 Address/IP Hostname:" and enter 150.135.111.17 on the input field. Click "Next".
  7. Go into Windows Search and type printers:
  8. Click on 'Printers and Scanners'.  Select "KONICA MINOLTA C554SeriesPCL", then click on 'Manage'.

  9. Click on "Printing Preferences".

  10. Click on the Basic Tab. 
  11. Change  the "Output Method" to "Secure Print".   (If) the "User Settings" dialog box pops up, enter any string for  "Secure Print ID" and/or "Password" (remember these!).
  12. Click on Authentication/Account Track and enter your pin number/account code (contact Business Office to get one) on the 'Password' field. Click on 'Verify' if you want to verify that your pin is correct. Then click 'OK'.
  13. Click on User Settings and enter a string of your choice (case sensitive) on the Secure Print ID, then click 'OK'.
  14. When back to the 'Basic' tab, click 'Apply', then 'OK'

    Congratulations !!! The printer has been installed.

  1. Find the name and/or ip address of the non-Konica printer you wish to add from the following list.

  2. Add the printer to your Mac as follows:

Open the Print & Fax application from System Preferences.

Press the + button to add a printer.

From the top of the window, press the IP button.

Enter the following (this is an example for adding hp3525-351a):
Protocol: HP Jetdirect - Socket
Address:  hp3525-351a.lpl.arizona.edu 

At this point, the application should be able to connect to the printer and fill out  the Print Using option.  

If you want to change the Name field, you can put any text in the field.

Press the Add button.

You may want to modify the default settings to enable options like duplex mode.

  1. If you do not have a pin to the copier, please go to the LPL Konica Request Form and request a pin.
  2. Download the driver (you will need your NetID+): LPL Computing Resources
  3. Click on the zip file to unzip it, if needed.
  4. Double click on the installer: bizhub_C554_C364_109.pkg
  5. You should be prompted for your Mac's local admin password (probably the password for your account if you are an administrator on your machine).
  6. Go to System Preferences → Printers and Scanners
  7. Click '+' to add a printer, then click on the IP tab. Enter on the Address field:  mcopier351a.lpl.arizona.edu
  8. For "Protocol", use "HP Jetdirect - Socket"
  9. On the last entry 'Use:', Click on 'Select Software' and choose 'Konica Minolta 554e PS' from the list. Click OK.
  10. On the next screen, check the box next to 'Secure Print Only'. Click OK.
  11. The printer should now be installed.

    YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PRINT FROM SAFARI. You can save the page as pdf and use either Preview of Adobe Acrobat to print to the copier.
     
  12. Pretend to print a file from word to configure it.
  13. You will see a window like this:
  14. Click on 'Copies & Pages' and Click on Output Methods
  15. Clcik on 'Account Track'
  16. Leave the 'Department Name' field in blank.
  17. On the 'Password' field enter the Pin number you received from the Business Office. Click Ok.
  18. You should see the window like this:
  19. Press print and you will see:
  20. On the 'Secure Print ID:', enter a string that you will remember - this is NOT your copier password.   It is case sensitive. So when you want to release your job at the printer, you will need to remember this string.
  21. Leave the 'Password:' field blank if you want.
  22. Click Ok and you will see that your job has been sent to the copier.

To retrieve your job:

  1. Go to room 351a.
  2. On the printer click on the keyboard symbol and then type your Pin. Click Ok.
  3. Click on Login.
  4. Choose the Secure Print option.
  5. When prompted enter the same string as you typed (case sensitive) in step 18 above.
  6. Once your job is displayed, click on it  and then press the 'Print' button on the right. The Start button will turn Blue.
  7. Click on Start button. Your job has been printed.
  8. Be sure to sign out of the printer before you walk away.

  1. If you do not have a pin to the copier, please Go to LPL Konica Request Form and request a pin.
  2. Download the driver (you will need your NetID+): LPL Computing Resources
  3. Unzip and untar the file.
  4. Go into the  KMbeuUXv1_13_multi_language directory and run install.pl to install the drivers.
  5. Make sure you have cups running and direct your browser to http://localhost:631
  6. Go into the Administration tab and press 'Add printer'. Login as root when asked to do so.
  7. Choose AppSocket/HP JetDirect. Press Continue.

     
  8. On the connection field enter: socket://mcopier351a.lpl.arizona.edu. Then press Continue
  9. Next enter a name for your printer, the description and location. These are custom fields and you can fill the fields as you want. Press Continue.
  10. On the next screen you will xhoose the driver. If the driver has been correctly installed, you will see an entry for Konica Minolta. Then press Continue.
  11. Choose Konica Minolta 554e SeriesPS(P) Beu v1.4. Then press 'Add Printer'.
  12. Go with the default options: press 'Set Default Options'.
  13. Your printer has been installed. 
  14. Now we need to configure it. On the same browser, choose to print the page. Choose the printer (in this case mcopier351a). Click on the 'Advanced' tab.
     
  15. Scroll down and under Output methods: choose 'Secure Print', Under Secure Print ID add any sring you want (remember it, it is case sensitive). You do not need to add a 'Secure Print Password'. Click on 'Account Track'. For Department Code : Nona. For Password add the pin number you received from the business office. Then press 'Print'.

     
  16. That is it. You should see your desktop sending the file to the Konica Minolta copier.

If you are running Redhat Linux, you can add a network printers as follows:

  1. Find the IP address of the non-Konica printer that you wish to add from the following list.

  2. Login as root.

  3. Add the printer.

    To add an LPL printer to a Redhat linux machine:
     
    If using the gnome GUI:
    Click foot->programs->system->printer configuration.
    If using kde:
     
    Regardless of GUI type, proceed with:
    Click New.
    Click Next.
    Click the radio button next to JetDirect Printer JETDIRECT.
    Enter the name of the printer in Queue Name window.
    Click Next.
    Enter the printer's IP address in the Printer IP window.
    Click Next.
    Click Postscript Printer (top of list).
    Click Next.
    Click Finish.
    Click Apply.
    Click the row for the new printer in the list of printers.
    Click Test->US Letter Postscript Testpage.
     
    To add a PIRL printer to a Redhat linux machine:
     
    If using the gnome GUI:
    Click Foot_or_Redhat->Programs->System->Printer Configuration.
    If using KDE:
    Click K->System->Printer Configuration.
     
    Regardless of GUI type, proceed with:
    Click New.
    Click Next.
    Click radio button next to Unix Printer LPD.
    enter name of printer in Queue Name window.
    Click Next.
    type pirlprinters in Server window.
    type name of printer in Queue window.
    Click Next.
    Click Postscript Printer (top of list).
    Click Next.
    Click Finish.
    Click Apply.
    Click the row for the new printer in the list of printers.
    Click Test->US Letter Postscript Testpage.

Printing from a USB flash drive

*USB flash drive must be formatted in FAT32*

**Only PDF, JPEG, TIFF format files can be printed out**

1. Login

2. Insert a USB memory device into the USB port (close to the front panel) of the machine.

Notice: Do not insert the USB memory device into the USB port close to the rear panel of this machine.

3. Wait 30 seconds
4. Tap [Print a document from External Memory.].

  • You can also print files by selecting the User Box operation mode and by tapping [System] – [External Memory].
  • If the document does not show up, please make sure your usb is formatted as FAT32 (or any FAT type).

5. Select a file to print, then tap [Print].

  • You can directly enter the path to the file folder in the [File Path] field.

  • Tap the [Top] key to move upward.

  • Tap the [Open] key to open the folder and move downward.

  • Tap [Details] to display and check the detailed file information.

6. Set print options if necessary.

7. Press the Start key.

8. When printing is complete, remove the USB memory device from the port of this machine.
