THE OCCULTATION OF SAO 164538 BY TITANIA

=============================================

Espada Station (Funchal, Madeira) Telescope:C14 (#2) Latitude: +32:38:15.3 (GPS) Longitude: W 016:56:07.8 (GPS) Altitude: +35 (GPS) meters

The "Espada Station" set up at the Ocean Park hotel in Funchal, Madeira.

Our team was on Uranus several hours before the event and was taking data very early on. As the time of the Titania occultation approached, clouds formed to the south and only ten minutes before the original predicted event, two minutes before the observed event as now reported, the planet was obscured completely by clouds.

We wish to thank all those that helped us select our site, set up and observe, particularly Dr. Jose Laurindo Sobrinho, Fernando Teodoro de Gois, Jorge Afonso da Silva Mendes, Marco Joaquim among the professional and amateur astronomical community at Madeira and at Ocean Park Hotel, Cristina Oliveira, and Ines Fernandez.
