Good to hear from you and hope all is well and that you are
having a great Holiday Season.

As of today, we are at about 30 Students, so it is not full.

The cap is about 75-80 Students until we have to bring in a 4th
Instructor.

All the info about the NUS can be found on the cactusumpires.com
Web Site as well as the additional info that is posted about the
Metro Phoenix hosted NUS. There is an electronic registration
form there also.

Already got a couple of apps from some Tucson boys. For your
convenience I have below the additional info about the school
that is posted on the web site and I have attached a map of ASU.


2003 ASA National Umpire School, Phoenix, AZ 1-2 Feb Supplemental
Information
 
On Friday January 31 from 6 PM to 8 PM there will be Advance NUS
Check-In (Pick-Up of School Materials) and a "Get Acquainted
Reception" at Host Hotel - Twin Palms Hotel, 225 E. Apache Blvd.,
Tempe, AZ (480) 968-1877.

Host Hotel, Twin Palms Hotel, is offering a "Special Rate" for
the ASA National Umpire School Students - Contact Hotel direct at
1-800-367-0835 and Local 480-967-9431. There are many other
Hotels/Motels in the area of ASU, but "Seasonal Rates" are in
effect are fairly comparable. 

All NUS Classroom/Lecture Session will be held in Rm. 150 of the
Agriculture Building on the ASU Campus. (see map AG). Enter from
the double doors on the South side of the building, go down the
stairs and our room, Rm. 150 Classroom/Lecture Hall, will be on
your right. 

All NUS field activities will be at the Student Recreation Area
Softball Fields (see map SRA).  The fields are less than 5 minutes
from our Classroom. 

Ample parking for NUS Students is available at Parking Str. #1
(see map Parking Str. #1).  The parking structure is accessed off of
Apache Blvd.

The time lines for the Specific Agenda and Schedule of Events for
the Phoenix 2003 NUS are still in the process of being refined and
will be published shortly.

We have three outstanding instructors from the ASA National Umpire
Staff; Billy Peterson from Minnesota, Jim Craig from New York
and Steve Rollins from Utah.
