Spring 2007 - Canyon de Chelly, Arizona
We didn't venture out too far this fall, going to the NE corner of the state to explore Canyon de Chelly's connections with other solar system bodies, especially Titan.Mike Bland describing stream terraces.
The Little Colorado River.
Petrified wood at Petrified Forest National Park.
Making camp before sunset -- this is atypical from usual fieldtrip expeditions.
The Chinle Formation, which is a series of layers deposited by a prehistoric river system.
As we arrived at Canyon de Chelly to discuss how it was formed by groundwater flow, we unfortunately got snowed on.
