The LPL Library was established by Gerard P. Kuiper in 1962 as a reading room and ready reference collection serving the LPL faculty, staff, and graduate students. The library's interdisciplinary collection supports research and teaching in planetary science, primarily at the graduate level.

The Library is located in Kuiper 409.

LPL Library Services 

  • Maintain physical collection of books and journals, searchable through the LPL Library Catalog
  • Provide reference service, including assistance in database searching and obtaining materials
  • Act as liaison to UA Libraries personnel and services
  • Track refereed staff publications and post to Refereed Publications with LPL-Affiliated Authors
